2009 District 3 Governor’s Award
Zonta Club of Westchester Director and member Karen D. Carroll, RN SANE-A NY-SAFE, the Associate Director of Bronx SART journeyed August 2009 to Kenya to train nurse midwives and other Kenyatta General Hospital staff to perform forensic exams.
Nairobi has just written a draft protocol which addresses sexual assault and the care of women, men and child victims, and Karen is one of the expert, trained nurses being tapped to help train nurse midwives to provide care and evidence collection to rape victims in Kenya.
